5 - 62,500 horsepower generating units produce 255 megawatts of power are located on the Arizona side of the river.
Huge transformers start the electicity on it's way.
The power grid begins the distribution of the electricty. 2,100 miles of high-voltage transmission lines serve 43 power substations in Arizona, Nevada, and California which supplies power to a number of utilities and other entities in this area.
The gantry crane is used to service the generators. Note the new park being built in the background. It is part of the new Colorado River Heritage Greenway Trail .
This gantry crane moves along the top of the water intakes for service work and to remove any debris that may have gotten into the area.
