The Burro Creek Recreation Site is 1 1/4 mile south of mile marker 140 on US 93 in Arizona. It is situated along Burro Creek with a very scenic canyon. This peaceful area has long been a favorite stop of travelers on nearby Highway 93.

Open all year, it's a great place to take a break from the long drive; day use is free. Visitors enjoy camping, picnicking, birding, swimming, hiking, four wheeling, and rock hounding for agates and Apache tears.

The cactus garden and interpretive signs introduce life of the desert. Hikers can head up the creek bed if the water isn't too high which extends some 40 miles upstream through the scenic canyon and goes through the heart of Burro Creek Wilderness.
