Milepost 12 area - The bridge ahead is not a bridge to nowhere, it is an animal bridge. Highways interrupt the natural migration of the sheep so 3 wildlife overpasses were identified through GPS collared sheep. Then three wildlife crossings over US 93 were constructed and can be seen as you travel along the highway.

Desert bighorn sheep have long possessed a romantic image that has captivated visitors. The magnificent curling horns of the rams have inspired men from the ancient Anasazi rock artists, to the early explorers, prospectors and modern day hunters. The great curved horns, which may reach a full curl, attain a length of up to 40 inches.

Milepost 4 area - 1/4 mile south of Milepost 4 is another animal bridge.

Milepost 4 - Exit to White Rock Canyon Trail Head. There are several hot springs in the scenic, volcanic Black Mountains south of the Hoover Dam. The most accessible by foot are the Arizona Hot Springs.
